Program overview

Many of us have watched American shows and thought wouldn't it be epic to experience that first hand well the Agricultural internship program gives you an opportunity of making that dream come to life. Bear in mind that the Kardashian's life is not what you will experience!

We specialize in placing qualified Agricultural students and graduates with host farms where one gets remunerated as well as housing and receives exceptional on the job training which will build your career experience and professional skills.

The program gives Agricultural students and graduates an opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skills through a structured and guided work based training by providing exposure to American techniques, methodologies, standards of service and management style.


The program will include step by step assistance throughout the whole process from interview guidance to completing the necessary paperwork to obtaining a J1 visa once hired as well as assistance with flights, travel insurance, as well as an opportunity to meet other adventurous travellers at orientation.

Typical jobs


Your success here is mostly down to you, and is determined by your attitude. You also need to be physically and mentally fit.


  • Working with horses and stock on cattle and sheep stations
  • Working with motorbikes and stock on cattle or sheep stations
  • General farm work of all sorts
  • Driving tractors, combines, headers, graders and farm machinery
  • Working in the home on a farm helping out where needed
  • Working with harvesting contractors, module building, boll buggy driving
  • Working with fencing or spraying contractors
  • Trail riding centers, horse riding and teaching, sometimes not well paid
  • Host farms, horse work and general duties
  • Racing stables and polo yards, stud farms, general duties
  • Event and show jumping stables, dressage and general duties
In order to qualify

As the saying goes: "Life is 5% what happens to you, and 95% how you react to it."

  • Have at least 6 months experience in the type of agricultural placement you are looking for
  • Have at least one years of tertiary education in agriculture equivalent to a national certificate
  • Be single and between ages of 18-30
  • Be mature, flexible, open minded and willing to work long hours
  • Be a South African passport holder
  • Have full support of ones tertiary institute as documents are required from them
  • Be in good health and not in possession of or using any drugs other than those recommended by a doctor
  • Hold a clear criminal record
