Gap Year in New Zealand

Gap Year in New Zealand

From beaches to ski fields, New Zealand’s got it all.

Program overview

When it comes to natural beauty, local hospitality and outdoor adventure, nothing quite compares to the land of the long white cloud. And with the help from us, you could find yourself immersed further into the New Zealand lifestyle than you may ever have thought possible!

A New Zealand gap year from us offers participants the chance to work alongside Kiwi locals and experience the true New Zealand. As a Gap Assistant, you’ll be on hand to help out teachers and tutors at a leading New Zealand school, working directly with the local students. A huge range of school placements are available on both the North and South islands, allowing you to get a taste of life in whichever part of this diverse country you’d like.

And when school’s out, you’re free to travel the length of this stunning country. From beaches to ski fields, New Zealand’s got it all. Play movie scout by touring the locations used in The Lord of the Rings, hit up the extreme sports playground of Queenstown, go for a walk on the famous Fox Glacier, or hit the renowned Marlborough region to enjoy New Zealand’s magnificent wines; there is so much packed into this island nation that the options will appear to be endless.

As many come to realize that there is huge value to be gained from a break between high school and university. It can offer new challenges, opportunities to travel and see the world, experiencing first hand new cultures and give one an added maturity that is both immediate and an enduring benefit.

Through partnership with our New Zealand partner organization we offer the school leaver ( undergraduate or recent graduate) the opportunity to work in an overseas school environment as a Gap Assistant at either a leading New Zealand school. In a secure, stable, supportive environment where participants are provided board, lodging and a financial allowance in return for performing a range of tasks and responsibilities at the schools discretion. As an assistant the tasks are not always glamorous!

The program will include meals, accommodation, a weekly allowance, visa assistance, a comprehensive in-country orientation and ongoing support from our committed New Zealand partner organization.
